Sepertinya tidak perlu banyak intro untuk Owl City ini. Selain fakta bahwa single ‘Fireflies’ mendapatkan rotasi yang sangat baik di radio, fakta lainnya adalah Universal Music Indonesia mendapat bukti statistic bahwa Indonesia merupakan negara ke-2 setelah Philipina yang telah menjalin hubungan terbanyak di situs jejaring Facebook Owl City, luar biasa!
Owl City, yang merupakan sebutan kota kelahiran Adam Young, merupakan sebuah project dari dia dengan 2 orang temannya membuat sebuah musik elektronika yang sangat menawan. Pengaruh musik dari Owl City memang musik-musik elektronik dari Eropa, irama synthpop, electronica, new urban dan new wave. Owl City memang menjadi salah satu artist yang pertama dikenal lewat myspace, lebih dari 6 juta orang memutar lagunya di myspace sebelum akhirnya Universal Republic mengkontraknya untuk membuat album.
Single yang akan dijadikan jagoan atau single pertamanya berjudul ‘Fireflies’ yang diambil dari albumnya yang berjudul “Ocean Eyes”, mengingat musik 80’an sangat menggambarkan sekali Owl City, suara dari Adam Young selintas sedikit sama dengan vokalis dari the postal service Ben Gibbard, tetapi lagu ‘Fireflies’ bernuansa lebih ceria dan sangat menyegarkan menjadikan lagu ini sangat mudah dicerna oleh banyak orang. Di lagu ini Owl City berkolaborasi dengan vokalis dari Relient K ‘Matt Thiessen’, sesuatu perpaduan yang menghasilkan suatu karya yang ciamik, dan lagu ‘Fireflies’ ini diproduseri oleh Adam Young sendiri. Sedangkan Video Clipnya disutradarai oleh Steve Hoover.
