American Idol 11 Top 7 part 2 - Now And Then

Malam ini ke-7 Finalis bakal menyanyikan 2 lagu, dengan tema Now and Then, mereka membawakan 1 lagu yang relatif baru dari Billboard Chart dan 1 lagu dari era Soul Train. Guest mentor kali ini tidak ada, dan sepertinya emang tidak perlu, seperti minggu lalu AKON yang jadi tamu tapi tidak memberikan masukan yang berarti bagi mereka. Jimmy Iovine masih dipercaya untuk menjadi mentor utama ke-7 finalis Idol kali ini.

Show dibuka dengan berita duka dari Dick Clark, seorang produser di bidang televisi Amerika yang meninggal karena serangan jantung di usianya ke-82. Kata Ryan Seacrest, kalo tidak ada Dick Clark, acara seperti American Idol ini tidak akan pernah ada! R.I.P. Dick Clark!

1. Hollie Cavanagh – “Rolling in the Deep” by Adele

Randy Jackson: It was close to perfect.

Jennifer Lopez: No thinking, you just sang that song. You did it. I’m so happy for you.

Steven Tyler: You finally came out of your shell. You ruffled your feathers. It was perfect.

2. Colton Dixon – “Bad Romance” by Lady Gaga

Randy Jackson: You are so in the zone right now. I loved it. Job well done.

Jennifer Lopez: It was an exciting performance. You have so much character when you sing.

Steven Tyler: You gotta get low to get high.

3. Elise Testone – “No One” by Alicia Keys

Randy Jackson: You sang it great. You stuck with the melody.

Jennifer Lopez: It’s so beautiful.

Steven Tyler: I love you lots. You have such a beautiful voice for a better chorus.

4. Phillip Phillips – “U Got it Bad by Usher

Randy Jackson: We have a true artist on that stage.

Jennifer Lopez: That was so sexy. A great singer can sing any song.

Steven Tyler: I feel like a chump up here. You got melody now it was great.

5. Jessica Sanchez – “Fallin’ “by Alicia Keys

Randy Jackson: I hope America shows up and votes for you this week.

Jennifer Lopez: Your just a little baby. I’m glad we had a save and used it on you.

Steven Tyler: With talent like yours you have a right to get mad at a song.

6. Skylar Laine – “Born This Way” by Lady Gaga

Randy Jackson: You are so beyond ready.

Jennifer Lopez: You were just amazing, perfect 3 weeks in a row.

Steven Tyler: I was glad you were born that way.

7. Joshua Ledet – “I Believe” by Fantasia

Randy Jackson: You restrained yourself with that song. Love you, love your voice.

Jennifer Lopez: You leave it all on the stage every single time.

Steven Tyler: This is just another song for you to winning this whole thing.

Round 2: Soul Train Era

8.Hollie Cavanagh – “Son of a Preacher Man” by Dusty Springfield

Randy Jackson: You dug in with that last note.

Jennifer Lopez: This was better than the first time.

Steven Tyler: I still think you can push it even more.

9. Colton Dixon – “September” by Earth Wind and Fire.

Randy Jackson: You sound good but was not exciting like we would have liked.

Jennifer Lopez: I love that song by Earth Wind and Fire.

Steven Tyler: Your voice is a lot more powerful for that song.

10. Elise Testone – “Lets Get it On” by Marvin Gaye

Randy Jackson: That song choice wasn’t right for your voice.

Jennifer Lopez: You always sound so good. You don’t like to show emotion too much.

Steven Tyler: That song showed your versatility.

11. Philip Philips – “Midnight Hour” by Wilson Pickett

Randy Jackson: Be who you are.

Jennifer Lopez: I want to do the step with you.

Steven Tyler: Brilliantly awkward. Beautiful.

12. Jessica Sanchez – “‘Try a Little Tenderness” by Otis Redding

Randy Jackson: I hope America shows up and votes for you this week.

Jennifer Lopez: Your just a little baby. I’m glad we had a save and used it on you.

Steven Tyler: With talent like yours you have a right to get mad at a song.

13. Skylar Laine – “Heard it Through the Grapevine” by Marvin Gaye

Randy Jackson: You and Phillip have no problem connecting.

Jennifer Lopez: I love the first song this was good too.

Steven Tyler: You’re like a wild horse who refuses to be tamed.

14. Joshua Ledet – “A Change is Gonna Come” by Sam Cooke

Randy Jackson: Just like you this song was perfect for you.

Jennifer Lopez: When you come back and you held back, I still want more in the end.

Steven Tyler: It made it so big when you popped.

Result Show minggu lalu memang terlihatnya sudah di-plot, walau oleh Produser American Idol, Nigel Lythgoe membantah hal itu. Minggu ini, kalau dilihat dari komentar para juri sepertinya memihak ke Phillip Phillips dan Joshua Ledet yang dapat Standing Ovation.

Prediksi kita yang bakal di bottom 3 adalah Elise Testone, Hollie Cavanagh dan Joshua Ledet. Dan yang bakal pulang adalah.. Elise Testone
