Released by: Universal Music IndonesiaSetidaknya 1,5 tahun telah berlalu sejak CreativeDisc memuat artikel pertama mengenai band asal Australia 5 Seconds of Summer. Kini, mereka sudah menarik ancang-ancang untuk album studio kedua, dengan menampilkan 'She's Kinda Hot' sebagai single perdananya. Masih memberdayakan John Feldmann di bagian produksi, keempat pria muda ini kembali menebar pesona mereka lewat arak-arakan musik poprock dengan pengaruh punk.
Tema lirik tentang cewek pun masih menjadi favorit mereka. Untuk pengerjaannya, Michael Clifford dan Ashton Irwin mendapat asistensi dari Madden bersaudara, Benji dan Joel. Sebelumnya, mereka muncul dalam creadit untuk single 'Amnesia'. Aspek musik yang berbeda antara 'Amnesia' dengan 'She's Kinda Hot' ini membuktikan bahwa banyak dimensi yang bisa diciptakan dari kerjasama senior-junior tersebut.
Menurut pengakuan para personel 5SOS sih, ini merupakan lagu terberat mereka sejauh ini. Jika meneliti dari segi musik, ada ragam instrumen yang dimainkan menidakbiasakan lagu ini. Itu mungkin yang dimaksud, kerane berhasil memisahkannya dengan lagu-lagu 5SOS sebelumnya, seperti 'She Looks So Perfect' ataupun 'Good Girls'. Lagi, berdasarkan pernyataan lanjutan mereka, 'She's Kinda Hot' ini tak sedangkal judulnya. Berdasarkan deskripsi lirik sih ada makna tersirat kalau sebenarnya ini merupakan ungkapan keikhlasan si cowok atas segala kekurangan si cewek.
Saya tak pernah menganggap 5SOS sebatas band pensi. Mereka lebih matang daripada itu. Indikasi pendalaman yang mereka tunjukkan lewat single ini semakin memantapkan posisi mereka sebagai seniman, bukan cuma sekedar kumpulan anak muda yang doyan bermusik.
