Berdasarkan kabar yang bergulir, para mantan anggota Spice Girls, kecuali Victoria Beckham alias Posh Spice, akan melakukan reuni untuk merayakan 20 tahun usia girlband ini. Tapi rencana reuni ini tampaknya akan menemui kegagalan karena Melanie C alias Sporty Spice dilaporkan urung bergabung bersama reuni ini.
Menurut The Sun yang memberitakan hal ini, keputusan ini diambil Mel C karena ia ingin fokus pada karis solonya. "Mel C is out of the reunion for now. She has essentially left the band to focus on a more serious music career," sebut sebuah sumber kepada The Sun.
"She loves the girls but it just didn't feel right for her to reunite with them at the moment," lanjut sang sumber. "She has other priorities and obviously it was a bit of a problem that Victoria made it clear she wasn't going to be part of the reunion."
Meski begitu, meski tanpa Victoria dan Mel C, para member yang lain tetap berniat untuk merayakan 20 tahun Spice Girls, meski melalui upaya lain. "They are arranging a number of meetings which include the option for a tour, possibly with just the three of them or with other singers. There have even been the suggestions of a Spice Girls talent show. It would be an absolute TV sensation. Could you imagine the opportunity for a member of the public to become a Spice Girl?" pungkas sang sumber.
