Keith Urban berkolaborasi bersama rekannya sesama superstar country, Carrie Underwood, untuk lagu barunya, 'The Fighter', yang merupakan single kelima untuk album peraih nominasi Grammy Urban, "Ripcord". Kabar gembira lain, lagu ini akan melakukan debutnya untuk pertama kali di televisi di acara Grammy Awards ke-59 yang akan berlangsung pada hari Minggu, 12 Februari besok.
Ditulis juga oleh Urban dan produser busbee, lagunya hanya menampilkan suara Underwood di bagian chorusnya saja, di mana mereka bernyanyi, "What if I fall?/ I won't let you fall/ What if I cry?/ I'll never make you cry/ And if I get scared?/ I'll hold you tighter."
"Writing 'The Fighter' came pretty quickly," ungkap Urban tentang lagunya di press release singlenya. "It comes from a very real place. It's a song about helping to heal and protect someone you love. It's a song about reassurance that you'll always be there to take the blows the world can throw."
"I loved the song when I first heard it and was excited to work with Keith on new music," tambah Underwood di press release yang sama. "I had such a great time touring Australia and New Zealand with him in December, and can't wait to perform 'The Fighter' on The Grammys!"
