Single of The Day: Matisyahu – One Day

Dengan latar belakang yahudinya, Matthew Paul Miller, demikian nama aslinya, memakai sudut pandang etnisitasnya terhadap polemik yang saat ini tengah terjadi. Dan ini membuat lagu ini menjadi berbeda.

Vokal Matisyahu yang terkesan gahar tapi letih sendiri sangat berpengaruh dalam membangun atmosfir sendu dalam lagu ini, meski sebenarnya lagu bergerak dalam tempo yang lumayan cepat. Walhasil, maksud dan tujuan lagu bisa lebih tersampirkan.

Kalau ingin mendengar lagu antemik yang berbeda sekaligus menyentuh dalam kontemplasi, maka ‘One Day’ milik Matisyahu ini bisa menjadi penawar dahaga akan kerinduan lagu-lagu sejenis.
