JLS dikenal juga dengan nama Jack the Lad Swing, beranggotakan 4 orang yakni Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes, Jonathan “JB” Gill, dan Oritsé Williams. Secara fisik, boysband ini tidak memiliki ketampanan wajah nan menawan layaknya boyband 90’an yang kita kenal dulu, tapi paling enggak, karena lulusan ajang nyanyi, maka kita enggak usah kuatir kalau2 dalam band ini ada yang enggak berperan serta. Aliran musik yang diusung adalah R&B, dance-pop, dan soul. Semuanya dibalut dengan kesan muda!
Nah, back to the music. JLS sudah tandatangan kontrak dengan Epic records. Disinilah lagu ‘Beat Again’ dipasarkan. Lagu ini diciptakan oleh Wayne Hector dan Steve Mac. Masih ingat nama ini? Ngetop banget di era Westlife! Tapi kog kenapa musik yang diciptakan oleh Hector dan Mac yang sekarang tidak se-klemar-klemer dulu? Aku rasa jawabannya cuman 1, mau ngikutin selera pasar yang sekarang!! Ada sedikit yang aku ingin tekankan di lagu ini. Saat chorusnya, kog semua beat dan alunan nadanya serupa dengan Ciara yang 1,2 Step sih? What do you think?
Secara lirik, lagu ini menceritakan kengerian pasca putusnya sebuah hubungan. Whoa ho ho ho… Bagaimana interpretasinya ke dalam sebuah lagu yang benar2 up beat? Makanya, dengerin sendiri! Lagu yang sejak dirilis (13 Juli) ini sudah menguasai UK chart! B-side untuk single-nya adalah cover version Rihanna untuk Umbrella! Sekarang tinggal nunggu jadwal perilisan album dan jadwal tur!
