Setelah sukses dengan single ‘Bulletproof’ ia menjadi salah satu artis yang menjadi sorotan bagi publik Inggris. Media ternama The Guardian menyebutnya sebagai Best New Acts of 2009. Selain itu BBC juga menobatkan mereka di posisi kelima dalam daftar BBC Sounds of 2009. La Roux juga meraih nominasi dalam ajang pemilihan album terbaik Mercury Prize. Musiknya yang memadukan unsur musik elektronik dan permainan synth ala era 80-an berhasil diramu dengan pas sehingga tidak terdengar lawas tapi justru menyegarkan.
