Bikin Soundtrack sudah dilakoni Ne-Yo sebanyak 2kali, yaitu "Save the Last Dance 2" (2006) dan "Stomp the Yard" (2007) dimana dia sendiri juga membintangi film tersebut. Kali ini, Ne-Yo secara khusus membuat lagu 'Never Knew I Needed' untuk film animasi 2D Disney yang ke-49 yaitu "The Princess and The Frog".

Di single ini Ne-Yo berduet dengan penyanyi asal Jerman, Cassandra Steen. Di filmnya sendiri, lagu ini juga dibawakan oleh para aktor dan artis yang mengisi suara. Gimana lagunya? Well, masih tak jauh dengan ciri khas Ne-Yo, R&B Pop dengan medium tempo dan beat2 yang sama. Asik juga, apalagi ditunjang dengan lirik yang pas banget dan juga duetnyha bareng Cassandra. Ne-Yo juga merilis single ini dengan versi solonya juga.
