Mungkin agak berlebihan jika membandingkan Lisa Mitchell dengan Feist, karena Mitchell adalah anak bawang yang baru saja meluncurkan karirnya di peta musik internasional, terutama di ranah indie-pop-folk. Namun, jika harus membandingkannya dengan Lykke Li atau Lenka, bolehlah.
Sebenarnya, jika dibandingkan dengan Lenka, rekan senegaranya di Australia sana, Mitchell punya kelebihan tersendiri. Vokalnya, meski tipis, namun lebih empuk untuk mendapatkan aura folknya serta pemakaian musik yang kental dengan folk nan cemerlang.
'Neopolitan Dream' contohnya. Mengingatkan musiknya Joshua Radin dengan sedikit sentuhan Ingrid Michaelson, Mitchell bercerita dengan lirih dan mungkin sedikit pedih, namun komposisi musik yang eklektik dengan penggunaan gitar akustik yang ekstensif serta varian alat musik lainnya, membuat lagu menjadi sangat bernyawa. Iramanya sendiri tidak terjebak dalam laratan, melainkan cukup riang. Tidak mengentak-hentak, meski bertempo lumayan cepat. Intinya lagu yang dengan mudah dicerna dan sing-a-long.
Kalau suka menonton film-film seperti 'Juno', 'Little Miss Sunshine' atau 'Garden State' atau serial 'Grey Anatomy' dan akrab dengan lagu-lagu di sountracknya, pasti akan dengan segera familiar dengan 'Neopolitan Dream'.
'Neopolitan Dreams' terdapat dalam album perdana Mitchell yang berjudul 'Wonder', setelah sebelumnya mengeluarkan dua EP 'Welcome to the Afternoon' dan 'Said One to the Other'. Dan FYI, Mitchell adalah jebolan Australian Idol session 4 dan berada dalam 6 besar.
