I'm a big fan of Jessica Simpson. Dalam karir bermusiknya dia hampir sudah mecoba segala jenis musik dengan berbagai jenis produser. Pop, dance, sedikit R&B, sedikit rock, hingga country. Karir bermusiknya juga dibarengi dengan karir televisinya yang dia lakoni sejak Newly Weds bersama MTV. Tahun ini dia hadir dengan reality show bersama VH1, The Price Of Beauty, dimana Jess keliling dunia untuk menyaksikan perbedaan kultur dan cara pandang wanita akan kecantikan. Penyeimbangnya dengan karir bermusiknya adalah menyanyikan lagu tema untuk acara tersebut, maka muncullah Who We Are yang premir sejak 9 Maret lalu.

It’s about the discoveries I found within myself and realizing that I defined my own beauty for myself. We all struggle with the same issues. We all battle self-esteem. It’s just about being good enough for yourself.” Untuk tema serupa, Jess juga pernah menyanyikan lagu In This Skin yang memiliki ide penghargaan terhadap diri sendiri plus deklarasi 'You Are Beautiful'.
Lagu ini ditulis Jess bareng ama Billy Corgan (yang sempat dikabarkan dekat dengan Jess, entah sekarang masih dekat atau sudah menjauh). "I just can't find good enough words to speak about Billy. He's a very, very dear friend . . . I hope we can do more music together." Musik yang mereka ciptakan tidak hanya enak untuk didengarkan, tapi sekaligus menginspirasi. Khususnya bagi cewek-cewek yang seperti dalam keadaan KO dengan keadaan sekitar yang menuntut mereka untuk tampil cantik habis-habisan, termasuk menghalalkan operasi. Reality show The Price Of Beauty sendiri sudah premir sejak 15 Maret kemarin. Sedangkan untuk musiknya, Jess pengerjaan album bersama Epic sekaligus mengakhiri kontrak.
