Penyanyi, penulis lagu dan model yang bernama lengkap Sophie Ellis-Bextor Michelle lahir 31 tahun yang lalu ini pada awal karirnya menjadi vokalis band indie rock, The Audience. Setelah band tersebut bubar, di awal tahun 2000 dia memutuskan untuk bersolo karir dan dari sinilah awal kesuksesan wanita cantik ini. Musik yang dibawakannya merupakan campuran dari pop, dance-pop, nu- disko dan tentu saja pengaruh musik electro sangat besar di semua lagunya.
Single pertama dari Sophie Ellis-Bextor ini yang berjudul ‘Bittersweet’ yang diambil dari album solonya yang keempat yang berjudul “Straight To The Heart” yang diperkirakan release di bulan Agt. Lagu ini ditulis oleh Sophie sendiri dan dibantu oleh James Wiltshire, Russell Small, Biffco, dan Hannah Robinson, sudah tidak diragukan bukan bagaimana bagunya single ini. Aroma musik tahun 80’an di lagu ini sangat terasa sekali, bagi anda yang besar di era 80’an, lagu ini menjadi penyegaran dan referensi masa kini yang sangat menarik.
