Raungan gitar elektrik yang menjadi pembuka pada single Shut Up & Kiss Me menandai talenta ciri khas permainan gitar seorang Orianthi. Dengan mengandalkan nuansa rock dan dibalut pop, single ini diramu menjadi sangat unik, terdengar catchy dan tidak memerlukan waktu yang cukup lama untuk membuat single dengan up-tempo ini langsung menancap di telinga. Sebagai info, single ini akan masuk pada album Believe yang akan dirilis ulang.
Liriknya? Yupppp, tampaknya Orianthi seolah ingin meneriakan slogan girl power pada beberapa bagian liriknya. Coba perhatikan pada bagian pertamanya, "You’re too loud, I’m so hyper, On paper we’re a disaster, And I’m driving you crazy, It’s my little game" sangat jelas jika Orianthi selain tergila-gila dengan kekasih, namun juga ingin menyenangkannya, tetapi dengan cara seorang Orianthi tentunya. Berlanjut kepada bagian chorus yang dapat menjadi anthem, "This love (love)-hate (hate) relationship, You say you can’t handle it, But there’s no way to stop this now, So shut up and kiss me..." Terbilang berlebihankah untuk seorang wanita mengungkapkan hal seperti itu? Hem nampaknya hal tersebut tidak berlaku buat seorang gitaris handal Orianthi. Nikmati permainan gitar solo yang khas pada menit 2.10 yang semakin membuat single ini semakin menjadi candu.
Meski jika mendengarkan single ini sekilas mengingatkan pada single sebelumnya, “According To You” namun sedikit polesan yang berbeda, membuatnya terdengar very radio friendly. Banyak yang mengkorelasikan single ini dengan beberapa single milik Aril Lavigne? Hemm saya hanya mendengarkan sekilas, tidak lebih. Karena permainan gitar Orianthi yang maksimal membuat ia tidak bisa begitu saja disejajarkan dengan Avril. So without a doubt, just shut your mouth and just listen this catchy song, “Shut Up & Kiss Me”.
