Robbie Williams mengajak Gary Barlow untuk membuat sebuah lagu sekaligus menyanyikannya bersama. Maka terciptalah 'Shame', sebuah lagu pop dengan perasa country yang dirilis 4 Oktober lalu. Ini adalah single pertama dari album kompilasi kedua Robbie yang berjudul "In and Out of Consciousness: The Greatest Hits 1990–2010". Ini pasti sangat memorable, karena selain ini kali pertama Robbie dan Gary tampil bareng pasca keluarnya Robbie dari Take That tahun 1995 silam, ini juga seperti pemanasan pada kembalinya Robbie dalam formasi boyband yang membesarkan namanya tersebut.
'Shame' sendiri mulai dikerjakan sejak Februari 2010. Kala itu, dua sahabat ini berada dalam studio kosong dan fokus selama tak lebih dari satu jam. Dan teciptalah lagu berdurasi 4 menit ini. Membantu mereka dalam urusan memproduseri, adalah produser pemenang Grammy Trevor Horn yang bertindak. Single ini berhasil debut di posisi 2 UK Singles Chart. Video untuk single ini syuting di Cowboy Palace Saloon pada bulan Juni lalu. Buat yang merasa ada keanehan di antara Robbie dan Gary, hapus keraguan tersebut. Karena video ini memparodikan film Brokeback Mountain. Sekaligus, menggambarkan perasaan Robbie setelah meninggalkan sahabat-sahabatnya di Take That. Itu juga tercermin dalam liriknya, kog. "I read your mind and tried to call, my tears could fill the Albert Hall, is this the sound of sweet surrender?"
Oh iya, untuk album kompilasi kedua Robbie, dirilis tanggal 8 Oktober yang lalu. Terdiri dari 2 keping CD dengan total lagu kurang lebih 30 biji. Dan kalau kamu pesan yang edisi deluxe, akan nambah sekitar 20 lagu lagi. Puas banget kan? Dan 'Shame' sebagai single pertamanya, somehow membuat kita untuk menyadari kalau friends don't quit! It's just such a shame we never listened!
