Katanya sih, si James Blunt ini bosan menulis lagu tentang yang sendu-sendu, maka datanglah ide darinya untuk menulis lagu yang lebih ceria, lebih optimis, dan lebih memperluas jamahan area musik yang dipersembahkannya. Dan jadilah sebuah lagu yang ditulisnya sebagai sebuah usaha get away dari signature sound yang tersaji dalam 'You're Beautiful'. Adalah 'Stay The Night' yang memiliki melodi berdasarkan sampling dari lagu lawas milik Bob Marley yang berjudul 'Is This Love'. Single ini dirilis akhir Oktober lalu sebagai single andalan dari album ketiga cowok 36 tahun ini yang berjudul "Some Kind Of Trouble".
Biarkan kemeriahan tercipta dalam alunan up tempo pop berbalur folk ini. Banyak yang surprise akan sound terbesut keluar dari orang yang ngetopnya dengan lagu-lagu slow dn melankolis. Bunyi-bunyian yang up tempo disini terdengar begitu segar di telinga. Toh melankolis dalam vokal James bisa mengimbangi keceriaan yang tersusun dalam durasi tiga setengah menit lagu. Agaknya James emang butuh get away, dan disini dia secara total mampu mengekspresikan how fun a record could be, tanpa harus terbebani dengan apa yang pernah diraihnya dengan record sebelumnya.
Suasana senang-senang itu juga tergambar dalam video klip untuk lagu ini. Love it or hate it. Kalau aku sih bilang ini adalah langkah yang tepat untuk sebuah musical refreshing. You don't have to be annoying to be fun, atau tidak harus jadi aneh untuk tampil beda. I heart the song.
