“Speak Now” yang ditulis oleh Taylor Swift sejatinya berbicara mengenai seseorang yang meng-interupsi mantan pacarnya di acara pernikahan yang menikah dengan perempuan lain setelah curhat dengan sahabatnya. Yup tampaknya itulah yang mau di ungkapakan Swift melalui “Speak Now”. Nuansa gitar akustik yang menjadi pembuka beberapa detik pertama berlanjut dengan lirik yang seakan tidak setuju dengan wanita pilihan mantan pacarnya tersebut “I am not the kind of girl. “Speak Now” yang ditulis oleh Swift ini, terinspirasi dari sahabat Swift dan tentunya pengalaman Swift sendiri selama di sekolah SMU. Setelah lulus SMU, pasangan tersebut memutuskan untuk berpisah dan rencananya mereka bakal nyambung lagi kedepannya. Yah rencana hanya rencana, dan rencana balikan tersebut tidak terwujud, dengan sedikit sindiran “She floats down the aisle like a pageant queen But I know you wish it was me, you wish it was me, don’t you?” Pastinya single yang dibalut dengan country pop dengan sedikit folk akan membuat pendengarnya tidak berpikir panjang untuk menyukainya. Satu lagi ya, khususnya buat para wanita, mendengarkan single ini dapat melepaskan kebetean setelah ditinggalkan atau diputus pacar… hemmmm
