Banyak yang berpendapat penyelamatan juri yang dilakukan minggu lalu terlalu dini, tapi banyak juga yang merasa bahwa keistimewaan penyelamaatan itu sebenarnya enggak perlu. Tapi toch, itu semua sudah kejadian, dan Top 11 harus kembali berkompetisi gila-gilaan karena 2 di antara mereka harus tersisih di malam result. Dan inilah bagaimana cara mereka bertarung menyanyikan lagu-lagu milik Elton John.
1. Scotty McCreery – “Country Comfort”
ST: I love everything about your voice. You did it again.
JL: You have amazing instincts I encourage you to always stay grounded. Never doubt yourself.
RJ: You have seasoned so fast on this show. You’re already there. You are so much in the zone right now. It could be on your record.
AI: Ini bukan kali pertama American Idol punya vokalis country, ada Carrie Underwood, Josh Gracin, dan lain-lainnya. Tapi country yang satu ini sangat mulai membosankan. Tapi enggak akan salah kalau dirinya jadi favorit, dia menjual rekaman lebih banyak dibanding kontestan yang lain. (7/10)
2. Naima Adedapo – “I’m Still Standing”
JL: I believe that you’re supposed to still be standing. Not sure this song was suited for that. It was a better idea than payoff for me. I love the way you perform.
RJ: I agree. For me, it kind of came off corny. That’s not who you are. You weren’t quite into it. I didn’t love it for you.
ST: Good for you for picking a song that fits you.
AI: Ketebak, kemampuan Naima hanya itu saja. Me-reggea-kan lagu apapun yang dinyanyikannya, dan menggila dengan goyangan Afrikanya. She's not for this competition. (6/10)
3. Paul McDonald – “Rocket Man”
RJ: There were a couple of things that were a little pitchy, your quiet voice is very infectious. But you’re holding back.
JL: There’s a little bit more to your voice than you even know.
ST: You always do a little something…I like the character where you sometimes hit a note and sometimes you don’t.
AI: Paul berada di elemenya dengan tema minggu ini. Dia tampil mempesona, dan dengan bantuan jas bunga-bunga penuh hoki, dia pasti aman melenggang ke 9 besar. (8/10)
4. Pia Toscano – “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down On Me”
ST: Pia you’ve done it again. That’s what you are. You nailed. it. Just about as good as it gets.
JL: The notes take us to another worldly place. I felt you more than I have before. I feel you trying to break the barrier. Crazy.
RJ: I don’t know what’s going on. You sung a ballad every time. You slayed them every time. The world knows you can sing. Pia was great once again.
AI: Saya melihat ketidakadilan disini. Bagaimana para juri terus memuji Scotty dengan pakemnya gaya country, dan bagaimana mereka terus mendesak Pia untuk tidak menjadi dirinya: ballad dan big notes. Pia is a rock star! Enggak ada yang salah menjadi sempurna dengan nyanyian yang memukau. (9/10)
5. Stefano Langone – “Tiny Dancer”
JL: I could really feel you taking our notes, connecting with the audience. You moved the crowd today. Amazing.
RJ: What I loved, you started connecting with the audience. I liked that you were moving around the stage. You were right on the money notes. Nice job.
ST: There’s a real sweet thing to your voice. Tonight, you just connected with the audience. You nailed it.
AI: Penampilan kedua yang paling natural, setelah Paul. Nyanyiannya terkontrol dan emosinya dapet. Stefano belajar banyak dari kejadian bottom 3 minggu lalu agaknya. (8/10)
6. Lauren Alaina – “Candle in the Wind”
RJ: That’s one of the greatest Lauren Alaina songs ever on the Idol stage. songs on stage. Very hot.
ST: I’ve loved you since the first moment you laid eyes on me. That was just perfect. You keep singing like that and you’ll be able to afford the rest of that dress.
JL: That was amazing. You were gorgeous, you sounded gorgeous. That was it baby. That was amazing.
AI: Saya ikut di barisan orang yang bilang kalau Lauren Alaina itu fake. Tapi nyanyiannya minggu ini sangat indah. Seandainya aja enggak ada tayangan ekstra yang harus menampilkan Lauren di kegiatan selain nyanyi di panggung, dia pasti jadi favoritku. (9/10)
7. James Durbin – “Saturday Night’s Alright For Fighting”
ST: You brought the heat, didn’t you. You got a really good rock voice. Don’t wear out your welcome. Don’t be up there too long.
JL: When youre up there, I forget that I’m in a competition show. It was a reallyfull performance of a great song.
RJ: You enjoy yourself. I really felt like you were having a great time. Great great great performance.
AI: Pendapatku sama dengan Jennifer, tapi dalam maksud negatif. Lagunya memang lagu konser banget, tapi jadi kelupaan kalau ini kompetisi nyanyi itu enggak baik. (7/10)
8. Thia Megia – “Daniel"
JL: That was beautiful. This was very well suited for your voice.
RJ: I liked that it was a very relaxed side of you. It was still very safe. I don’t know how that’s going to help you.
ST: When you find the right song, the voice appears. You sang a great Elton John song well.
AI: Mukanya selalu kelihatan stres dan aku ga tahu mengapa bisa demikian. Aku merasa dia setengah mati menyanyikan lagu ini, tapi akhirnya berhasil. It's a beautiful performance. (7/10)
9. Casey Abrams – “Your Song”
RJ: One of the greatest saves we’ve had on the show. Hearing you sing but not losing Casey. Well done man.
ST: One of the finest moments of this show was saving you. True artist.
JL: One decision I didn’t save one ounce of sleep over was saving you. You proved why tonight. It was very Casey.
AI: Penampilan Casey tampil jinak. Enggak hanya dari penampilan fisik, tapi juga nyanyiannya. Seharusnya Scotty, Naima, James juga harus kembali ke jalan yang benar, seperti Casey minggu ini. (8/10)
10. Jacob Lusk – “Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word”
ST: You slayed me.
JL: Tricky, the arrangement of that song was amazing. You made it your own.
RJ: You know I love you. I liked the arrangement. The first half was brilliant. Give me one spot where you go all the way up. Funny, Steven almost called him out on the second half, but he couldn’t bring himself to do it. Randy was right.
AI: Dia nyanyi sambil nangis ya? Bibirnya kayak abis kena stroke. Tersiksa abis-abisan menonton penampilannya. Buat fans Jacob, mohon maaf ya. (6/10)
11. Haley Reinhart – “Benny and the Jets”
JL: That was it Haley! It all came together. It was amazing.
RJ: For me, Best Performance of the Night.
ST: You sing sexy.
AI: HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT [sejuta kali] Haley bisa nyanyi apa aja, jadi jangan kuatir. Dia bukan kontestan yang bingung jalurnya ada dimana. Karena semua jalur adalah jalur Haley. (10/10)
Oh ya, pemenang tahun ini akan kembali punya lagu kemenangan, yang ditulis oleh Taio Cruz dan pemirsa boleh submit lirik ke americanidol.com untuk dipakai ke lagu itu. Ini dinamakan "Perfect Harmony". Prediksiku lagunya akan menjadi sangat menjengkelkan. Dan saatnya prediksi untuk result. Berkaca dari tahun-tahun kemarin, demi menyelamatkan Matt Giraud, mereka harus menyisihkan Anoop dan Lil Rounds. Demi menyelamatkan Big Mike, mereka harus menyisihkan Katie Stevens dan Andrew Garcia. Dan tahun ini, demi menyelamatkan Casey, kayaknya mereka akan menyisihkan Naima dan Jacob. Semoga!
