Setelah merelease beberapa promotional single untuk album 'Believe' akhirnya lagu 'As Long As You Love Me' lah yang terpilih sebagai single kedua untuk menyusul kesuksesan single 'Boyfriend'. Tampaknya usaha Justin Bieber untuk tampil lebih dewasa melalui album 'Believe' ini membuahkan hasil, dimana album ini berhasil menduduki posisi 1 US Album Charts serta single pertamanya yang berjudul 'Boyfriend' juga berhasil peak di posisi 2 US Singles Chart sekaligus itu adalah prestasi terbaik yang berhasil digapai oleh Justin di US Singles Chart sejauh ini. Melihat keberhasilan tersebut, maka pemilihan single kedua untuk albumm 'Believe' menjadi sangat penting karena tentunya Justin ingin single keduanya ini melebihi prestasi dari single 'Boyfriend'. Dua promotional singlepun akhirnya direlease, yaitu 2 lagu yang berjudul 'Die In Your Arms' dan 'All Around The World' namun akhirnya 'As Long AS You Love Me'lah yang diputuskan untuk menjadi official 2nd single dari album 'Believe'. Melihat lebih jauh kedalam lagu berdurasi 3:50 ini, As Long As You Love Me ditulis oleh Nasri,Rodney Jerkins dan Justin sendiri serta diproduseri oleh Rodney Jerkins. Melihat nama Rodney Jerkins yang akrab dengan genre RnB dan Hip Hop maka akan membuat kita cukup penasaran apa jadinya bila Justin bekerja sama dengan seorang Rodney Jerkins dan jawabannya ada di lagu As Long As You Love Me ini. Ketika lagu dimulai kita bisa mendengar suara Justin yang terdengar lirih dan ketika lagu memasuki verse kita bisa mendengar dentuman beat drum yang keras serta sound ala dub-step, genre yang saat ini sedang naik daun. Sebagian orang mungkin akan terkejut namun ini adalah sebuah usaha Justin agar terdengar lebih fresh dan saya bisa katakan dia berhasil. Memasuki chorus, Justin menunjukkan kebolehannya bernyanyi dengan teknik falsetto dan hal tersebut terdengar pas tanpa terkesan dipaksakan. Tidak sampai disitu, pada lagu ini Justin kembali mengajak seorang rapper untuk bekerja sama dengannya yaitu Big Sean. Rap dari Big Sean pada bagian bridge lagu ini memberi taste hip hop yang melengkapi lagu ini dan mebuatnya semakin menarik. Secara lyric, lagu ini masih bercerita mengenai cinta namun dalam sudut pandang yang lebih dewasa walaupun mungkin sebagian orang akan berpikir lyric seperti 'As long as you love me/We could be starving, we could be homeless, we could be broke' akan terdengar berlebihan dimana sebenarnya itu hanyalah sebuah kalimat kiasan untuk menunjukkan seberapa besar cinta Justin terhadap wanita tersebut.
Secara keseluruhan, sekali lagi Justin berhasil menunjukkan usahanya untuk menjadi lebih dewasa dan terdengar beda melalui lagu ini. Music video untuk lagu ini juga sudah direlease pada tanggal 1 Agustus lalu melalui channel Vevo dari Justin Bieber dimana music videonya ini bercerita mengenai usaha Justin untuk mengajak lari pasangannya karena Justin tidak disetujui oleh Ayah dari pacarnya. Cukup berbeda dengan music video dari Justin lainnya karena kesan dark ditamppilkan dalam music videonya ini dengan adanya adegan kekerasan yang juga ditampilkan. Bagi anda para Beliebers tentunya tidak akan melewatkan single yang satu ini dan bagi anda yang penasaran dengan apa jadinya dub-step ala Bieber, segera dengarkan As Long As You Love Me karena anda akan menemukan jawabannya.
