Terkadang Robbie Williams terdengar begitu filosifis. Mendengarkan 'Be A Boy' laksana mengenakan sepatu seorang Robbie, melihat bagaimana hidup dengan sudut pandangnya: seorang pria dewasa yang tengah bercermin diri. Agak kejam untuk mengatakan bahwa ia tengah menghakimi diri sendiri, tapi tampaknya ia sedang menulis buku harian ketika kita mendengarkan lagu yang satu ini.

Dari segi musik, 'Be A Boy' memiliki struktur yang bercorak. Memanfaatkan saxophone sebagai intrumen penting yang menciptakan faktor X dalam lagu pop elektronika ber-midtempo ini. Sementara arahan musik elektronikanya menyikut ke pop era 80 - 90-an. Klasik dan menarik.
Robbie menggugah dalam bagian chorus, ia semi-rap di bagian akhir. Bukan hal baru baginya, karena dalam 'Millennium' maupun 'Kids' ia berlaku serupa. Yang cukup menyita perhatian adalah ketika iring-iringan vokal "oh, eh, eh, oh" hadir di beberapa bagian lagu, kita dipaksa untuk mengingat hook dalam 'Use Somebody' milik Kings of Leon. Begitu miripnya sehingga mungkin dalam setiap kali pembicaraan mengenai lagu ini hal tersebut pasti diungkap. Tapi semuanya masih bersatu dalam kesimpulan tetap wajib dengar.
