Here comes the second single from Phillip Phillips' debut album, "The World From The Side Of The Moon". Adalah sebuah lagu yang enggak kalah asyik untuk ber-sing along, 'Gone Gone Gone'. Meskipun lagu ini tergolong asyik, tapi ternyata ia menyimpan kepedihan dalam cerita yang dikisahkan di dalamnya. Ini adalah sebuah lagu anti move on, tak sudi menghentikan cinta meskipun sudah berpisah. "I love you long after you gone" teriaknya. Meyakinkan diri sendiri bahwa keteguhan serupa mungkin bisa membuat sebuah akhir yang bahagia kelak.
Gitar, drum, dan vokal latar yang ramai masih menjadi senjata bagi Phil dalam menghadirkan single ini. Seperti 'Home' dulu dong. Struktur lagu bergerak dalam arahan slow ke intens juga masih menjadi sajian musiknya. The folk of Mumford & Sons still reminisce, while the choir back-up vocals drag the track to a state of fun.. Permainan vokal Phil yang terdengar agak memberat di bagian verse membuat ia semakin erat dari segi vokal pada sosok Dave Matthews. So, kesimpulannya 'Gone Gone Gone' adalah produk penuh kilasan kualitas dalam popularitas Mumford & Sons, fun., dan Dave Matthews Band, dan itu adalah sebuah nilai yang berdaya saing.
I never consider Phillip Phillips as a radio hit maker, khususnya di Indonesia, khususnya lagi di saat sekarang. Tapi dengan kesimpulan di atas, paling tidak lagu ini masuk dalam pertimbangan. Orang cenderung memilih lagu yang enak didengar alias ear catchy, maka lagu ini punya potensi demikian. Penerimaan tersebut diharap mampu memberikan hit lanjutan kepada Phil, setelah 'Home' yang sepertinya sudah dimasukkan ke dalam daftar lagu wajib nasional Amerika Serikat.
