Lagu yang tadinya di perkirakan kritikus Musik Inggris & Amerika akan menjadi single ke-3 dari album Overexposed ini memang terdengar berbeda. Love Somebody akan dibawakan oleh Maroon 5 secara eksklusif pertama kali di The Voice US pada tanggal 20 Mei 2013. Sedangkan Indonesia mendapat jatah satu hari sesudahnya yaitu tanggal 21 Mei untuk tanggal rilisnya. Satu kalimat yang tersirat dalam kepala ketika mendengarkan lagu ini adalah “Antara Maroon 5 atau Adam Levine ft. Band Rock Alternative dari UK”. Mengapa demikian? Love Somebody merupakan lagu yang mengedepankan unsur Pop Dance khas dengan raungan melodi Rock Alternative namun tetap Singable.
As always, Adam Levine lah sosok yang kuat dibalik terciptanya lagu ini. Namun, kali ini Adam Levine tidak sendirian dalam menulis Love Somebody. Kolaburasi Adam dengan Noel Zancanella , Nathaniel Motte (3OH-3) & Ryan Tedder (One Republic) yang membuat lirik Love Somebody terdengar Manis, Epik dan sedikit geek.

Lagu yang berdurasi 3 Menit 49 Detik ini lagu yang sangat Easy Listening. Tidak perlu berhari – hari untuk menjadikan lagu ini Most Played Songs. Hanya butuh 2 atau 3 kali mendengarkan kemudian lagu ini akan menempel di kepala si Pendengar. Di awal suara musik dengan nuansa Modern oleh PJ Morton mengantarkan Vokal Adam Levine dengan sangat sempurna. Peran Mickey Madden dan Matt Flyn sangatlah penting dalam menjaga tempo yang selaras pada Love Somebody. Barisan melodi – melodi yang indah seperti lagu Payphone atau Won’t Go Home Without You di hadirkan kembali oleh James valentine pada lagu ini. Dan satu hal yang tidak bisa dipungkiri adalah teriakan Adam Levine di part akhir Love Somebody yang mengharuskan kita mendengar teriakan teriakan nya di lagu Daylight dan hal tersebut menjadikan suatu ciri khas teriakan Adam Levine. Love Somebody merupakan lagu yang cocok untuk mengawali pagi hari kita sebelum beraktivitas.
Maroon 5 sungguh menghadirkan warna dalam album Overexposed. Bukan hanya Hitam atau Putih. Lewat Love Somebody mungkin jawaban nya setelah kita disuguhkan Payphone yang Singable, One More Night yang sangat Danceable, Daylight yang membawa kita seperti mendengarkan lagu – lagu soundtrack Disney dan Love Somebody yang mudah dicerna serta mudah membuat tubuh kita bergoyang. Singkat kata, kita boleh tidak suka dengan Band yang dahulu bernama Kara’s Flowers ini. Tetapi tidak bisa dipungkiri bahwa kita juga tidak bisa tidak menyukai Love Somebody.
