Beat drum yang repetitif, ditambahi hook mendekati bagian akhir lagu, dan juga tuangan emosi dalam penekanan vokal mencetak jelas warna Alicia dalam lagu ini.
Keberhasilan utama 'Tears Always Win' adalah sentuhan emosinya. Tidak ada yang mengalahkan saduran gaya bahasa atas kehampaan jiwa yang enggan terungkap. Mengakui kekalahan kepada sebuah perasaan, menyerahkan diri untuk mendapat rasa kasihan. Sekali lagi, tears always win!
