YouTube akhirnya mengadakan Music Awards untuk pertamakalinya, yaitu 3 November 2013 bertempat di New York City's Pier 36 dan disiarkan secara live webscasting. Acara ini akan disutradarai oleh Spike Jones, dengan host Jason Schwartzman dan juga penampilan live dari Eminem, Lady Gaga, Avicii, Arcade Fire, M.I.A. Nominasinya pun tidak banyak, cukup 6 saja, yaitu Video of the Year, Artist of the Year, Response of the Year, YouTube Phenomenon, YouTube Breakthrough dan Innovation of the Year. Dan bisa langsung di Vote melalui youtube.
Para nominasinya pun beragam, mulai dari artis, seperti Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, One Direction, Psy hingga fenomena youtube lainnya.
