Saat mengerjakan paruh pertama #MusicMondays yang lalu, saya suka saat menerima komentar mengenai bagian masa lalu Justin Bieber dengan Selena Gomez yang kuat mempengaruhinya. Dia memang kelihatan belum move on dari kisah romansa tersebut, membuat kita selalu mengaitkan lirik yang Bieber kreasikan kepada sosok Hawa tersebut. Tak terkecuali untuk 'All That Matters'. Meskipun Bieber tak seblak-blakan seperti saat 'Nothing Like Us' muncul, tetap saja pandangan menyipit ke arah sana.
Nama besar Bieber kali ini tidak dikelilingi oleh tim yang juga terdiri dengan nama besar. Donovan Knight alias DK The Punisher berikut Poo Bear merupakan nama "asing" yang menggodok 'All That Matters". Mereka sepenuhnya bertanggung jawab pada pergerakan menuju kedewasaan yang Bieber coba tampilkan disini. It's like Usher in his early years. Juga seperti Drake sebagai refersi yang lebih pas terkait dengan masa. Dia tak lagi menjadikan pop sebagai playground dan hendak mendedikasikan musiknya lebih ke R&B.
Seri kedua dari program #MusicMondays Bieber ini diberi logo sesuatu yang tampak hasil dari seni origami. Kompleks, layaknya lagu dengan durasi 3 menit 11 detik tersebut. Ada moment untuk nyanyi, ada sedikit moment untuk rap, dan ada intimate moment di chorus. Yang kehilangan adalah vocal run yang dulunya sempat menjadi signature Bieber dan juga bridge yang biasanya mengantarkan pada klimaks lagu. He's not playing all his cards in this #MusicMondays karena sebuah album studio juga ada dalam proses. Ini bisa jadi adalah penyisihan dari yang terlewatkan, ataupun pemanasan untuk yang akan datang.
