Shakira return with a bang! Tidak tanggung-tanggung, ia menggandeng Rihanna untuk membantunya dalam single paling mutakhirnya, Can’t Remember to Forget You. Namun begitu, meski keduanya dikenal sebagai diva-diva pop, secara artistik mereka memiliki pendekatan yang cukup berbeda. Lantas, bagaimana trik agar Sakira dan Rihana dapat terjalin dengan mesra dalam sebuah lagu?

Pop masih menjadi landasan utama Can’t Remember to Forget You ini, akan tetapi senang mendengarkan Shakira kembali ke akar rocknya yang cukup pekat membungkus lagunya. Sebagai lagu pop, ia sukses menjalankan misinya. Lagu pop catchy yang menggoda. Pemilihan untuk menghadirkan sound yang lebih organis dan meminggirkan elektro-pop juga merupakan kelebihan tersendiri. Yes, Can't Remember to Forget You is not an instant classic. Sure, it's still a commercialism at it best. Akan tetapi, di tengah kemonotonan musik pop, ia cukup berani untuk tampil berbeda.
