Salut buat Cheryl Cole yang selalu sanggup tampil berbeda di penampilan awal untuk setiap album. Ia mewarnai pop dengan beragam pola, hingga akhirnya menemukan paduan baru yang menyeret 'Crazy Stupid Love', single pertama dari album keempatnya, untuk menampilkan rasa urban, corak ghetto, ragam yang baru bagi Cheryl pribadi. Menemaninya, Tinie Tempah membantu permak lagu dalam verse rap menjelang chorus terakhir.
Dalam evolusi musiknyanya, Cheryl ternyata punya senjata rahasia. Adalah Wayne Wilkins yang rutin muncul sejak 'Fight For This Love' hingga 'Promise This', memastikan ada kualitas "baru" dalam setiap kesempatan. He's totally the mastermind here, meskipun pengaruh terbesar dalam setiap perbedaan yang terjadi adalah tim yang mendukung Wayne.
Yang paling menonjol dari 'Crazy Stupid Love' bisa jadi tercipta dari instrumen terompet yang mencuat pasca chorus. Kali ini, hook tidak terbentuk dalam gandengan kata yang memorable, namun hadir dalam arahan instrumen tersebut. Sedangkan yang paling gila dari single ini adalah gabungan dering tamborin dan debuman drum yang terdengar solid dan konstan membentengi lagu. Kekuatan musik itu sedikit menimbulkan kekurangnyamanan akan penerimaan vokal Cheryl. Seolah diharuskan melukis di atas kanvas yang sudah bercorak, vokal mezzo-sopran Cheryl yang halus berjuang menemukan tempatnya. And from what I've heard, she did it well.
Kompleksitas dalam single ini, dua bagian verse, satu bagian rap di bridge, dengan tiga kali chorus agaknya menguras durasi untuk berlangsung dalam tempo yang tak singkat. 'Crazy Stupid Love' nyaris tewas di menit ketiga detik ke-28, but miraculously banging again for another 17 seconds til it's officially dead. Kelezatan sound lagu ini bisa jadi candu yang memang tak mau melepaskan pendengar sebagai budaknya. Hingga sebuah kesimpulan dapat ditarik, everybody's in crazy stupid love of Cheryl.
