Released by: Sony Music Entertainment IndonesiaMaestro disco senior, Giorgio Moroder, kembali merilis single untuk album terbarunya yang akan rilis di musim semi tahun ini, "74 Is the New 24". Berjudul 'Right Here, Right Now', Moroder siap mengajak pendengar masa kini untuk menyimak sebuah beat ritmis ala disko klasik yang dibungkus dalam kemasan kekinian. Untuk itu ia mengajak diva pop Kylie Minogue untuk membantunya.
Dan ada alasan mengapa ia mengajak Kylie Minogue untuk membantunya. Disamping sang diva juga familiar dengan ranah disko, juga karena punya lagu berjudul sama. Tapi ini bukan remake lagu milik Kylie tersebut, melainkan lagu baru yang dikomposisikan Moroder bersama Patrick Jordan-Patrikios, Karen Poole dan David Etherington.
Moroder dan Kylie berkolaborasi dalam sebuah disko-funk yang agak mengingatkan Daft Punk, lengkap dengan vokal elektronis yang terdistorsi, tapi cukup menarik untuk disimak. Strukturnya mengadopsi funk klasik dengan tebal. Tapi dibandingka funk klasik, jelas 'Right Here, Right Now' terdengar lebih kekinian, mengingat penggunaan instrumen yang lebih moderen dengan sound yang lebih "bersih" dan "jernih".
Kylie sendiri membawakan lagunya dengan cukup santai dan rasa-rasanya tidak udah diragukan lagi kemampuannya dalam membawakan lagu dansa. Ia sudah cukup kenyang makan asam garam di dunia disco, sehingga 'Right Here, Right Now' dinyanyikannya dengan mulus. Ia mengetahui dengan baik dinamika yang diperlukan untuk lagu seperti ini.
Jadi, 'Right Here, Right Now' adalah contoh sempurna bagaimana dua musisi senior bekerjasama. Mereka melakukannya dengan berkelas dan bergaya. Mengusung semangat "oldskul' tanpa terlupa memeluk semangat kekinian. Tidak heran jika lagunya bisa diterima oleh pendengar lagu lintas generasi.
