Sebagaimana biasa, setiap tahunnya majalah TIME merilis daftar 100 Most Influential People dan tahun ini bukan pengecualian. Dari sekian nama populer, seperti Bradley Cooper, Christopher Nolan, Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pratt, Kevin Hart dan banyak lagi, terselip beberapa nama musisi/penyanyi, yaitu Kanye West, Taylor Swift dan Björk.
Istimewanya, Kanye West juga tampil sebagai salah satu sampul majalah TIME, yang keluar Jumat ini. Ia berada di dalam kategori Titan. Sebuah essay yang ditulis oleh pendiri SpaceX, Elon Musk, khusus membahas Kanye. "Kanye West would be the first person to tell you he belongs on this list. The dude doesn’t believe in false modesty, and he shouldn’t," demikian tulis Musk. Tapi Kanye tidak sendiri di daftar, karena sang istri, Kim Kardashian, juga masuk dalam daftar tahun ini.

Sementara itu essay tentang Taylor Swift ditulis oleh Mariska Hargitay, aktris serial "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit". Ia menulis, "Taylor Swift: megawatt talent, an extraordinary spirit, an impossibly charming blend of impishness, poise and radiance to spare. All of it combines to rock me back on my heels every time I see her."
Essay untuk penyanyi Islandia yang baru saja merilis album terbarunya, Björk, ditulis oleh seniman kenamaan, Marina Abramovic. "If you are really true to yourself and really follow your intuition in the most rigorous way, there is a moment that becomes universal, that reaches everybody. That’s the real magic of Björk—she teaches us the courage to be ourselves," demikian tulis Abramovic.
