Solo project Chad Gilbert, gitaris New Found Glory dengan nama What’s Eating Gilbert (WEG) ini akan merilis album barunya yang berjudul “That New Sound You’re Looking For”. Album ini berada dibawah label Hopeless Records yang akan dirilis pada 10 Juli 2015.
“I'm excited to announce that it is finally time for me to release the first full length What's Eating Gilbert Album, THAT NEW SOUND YOU’RE LOOKING FOR, on July 10th! I say finally because I actually recorded these 12 songs in January of 2014! Why have I waited so long to release it? Well as most of you know I play guitar in New Found Glory who have had an action packed last year and a half. Once Hopeless Records told me they wanted to release this album we both decided it was best to release it at a time when I could actually go out and play it for you!” kata Chad di halaman sosial medianya.
Musik What’s Eating Gilbert lumayan beda dari New Found Glory. WEG lebih terdengar retro-rock, yang menurut Chad terpengaruh musik yang selalu dimainkan orang tuanya waktu dia kecil dulu. Menurut Chad juga, New Found Glory akan selalu menjadi fokus utamanya, tapi selagi New Found Glory sedang tidak terlalu sibuk, untuk memenuhi hasrat terus bermusiknya, Chad mulai mengangkat WEG lagi. Sejak dibentuk 2010 lalu, WEG sudah merilis 6 EP dan That New Sound You’re Looking For akan menjadi full album pertamanya.
Bulan Juli nanti, What’s Eating Gilbert akan tur bersama Anthony Raneri di beberapa kota di Amerika Serikat.
