Austin Carlile (Of Mice and Men) Operasi Marfan's Syndrome

Vokalis band Of Mice and Men, Austin Carlile baru saja menjalani operasi di Stanford University Hospital. Austin mengidap Marfan’s Syndrome, sebuah penyakit genetis yang mempengaruhi jaringan ikat. Sindrom ini dimulai dengan pertumbuhan fisik yang tidak biasa, seperti tubuh yang terlalu jangkung atau jari yang terlalu panjang, dan beberapa gejala lainnya. Dalam jangka waktu yang panjang, sindrom ini bisa mempengaruhi organ dalam tubuh. Lima tahun yang lalu, Austin menjalani operasi jantung, dan akhir-akhir ini, rasa sakit yang dirasakan di lehernya semakin mempengaruhi fungsi jantungnya.

I'm transferring to Stanford University this week to be in care of my cardiologists & marfans specialists until my health situation at hand is under control. It has been a long past few days, and the ones following will be just as much of a struggle but I can do this. And I believe that whole heartedly. If I believe in it. So should you. Small steps! :)” kata Austin setelah operasinya. Operasi kali ini adalah operasi pertama dari serangkaian operasi lainnya yang akan dijalani Austin.
