Band indie asal Inggris yang tewas di sebuah kecelakaan di bulan Februari lalu di Stockholm, Viola Beach, akan mendapatkan tribut dari Radio X, yang dilakukan menjelang perilisan album posthumous mereka.
Album ini dirilis juga sebagai tribut untuk mengenang vokalis Kris Leonard, gitaris River Reeves, basis Tomas Lowe, drummer Jack Dakin dan manajer mereka Craig Tarry. Rencananya album self-titled ini akan dirilis pada Jumat 29 Juli.
Bersamaan dengan itu Radio Z akan memainkan album secara penuh pada Kamis, 28 Juli, jam 9 malam, dengan dipandu oleh kolaborator band, Maz Tappuni. Hadir juga bintang tamu seperti Eliza And The Bear dan Blossoms, yang akan mengenang band ini, selain orang-orang terdekat Viola Beach.
"We were lucky enough to cross the path of Viola Beach very early on here at Radio X and were all struck by their energy and potential," ungkap Head of MusicRadio X, Mike Walsh. "We were horribly shaken by the news of the tragic accident in February and decided then to honour the memory of the band as much as we can.The more music we heard, the more we loved it and it seemed natural to tell their story, and our special album playback show is one of the ways that we're celebrating the music of this brilliant young band. We hope that as many people as possible hear this truly great British debut album."
