Daftar lengkap nominasi Billboard Music Awards 2017 serta para nomineenya sudah diumumkan. Dan dari daftar tersebut diketahui jika Drake dan The Chainsmokers sukses memimpin peraihan nominasi, dengan masing-masing mendapatkan 22 nominasi. Disusul oleh Twenty One Pilots dengan 17 nominasi dan Rihanna dengan 14 nominasi.
Drake, The Chainsmokers, Twenty One Pilots dan Rihanna akan bersaing dalam mengincar gelar Top Artist, bersama dengan Adele, Beyonce Knowles, Ariana Grande, Shawn Mendes dan The Weeknd.
Sedang untuk kategori Top New Artist, Alessia Cara akan berhadapan dengan pendatang baru lain, seperti Desiigner, Lil Uzi Vert, Lukas Graham dan Zayn Malik. Desiigner juga dinominasikan untuk beberapa kategori lain, seperti Top Rap Song dan Top Streaming Song (Video) untuk single hitsnya, ‘Panda’.
Para pemenang akan dianugerahi piala mereka di acara yang akan berlangsung pada tanggal 21 Mei di T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas. Ludacris akan kembali menjadi host acara tahun ini. Sedangkan siapa saja calon presenter dan penampil akan segera diumumkan dalam minggu-minggu mendatang.
