Umumkan Daftar Nominasi Video Music Awards 2017, MTV Hilangkan Kategori Gender

Visual powerful yang dilepas Lamar untuk album tersebut memang cukup kuat untuk mendominasi VMAs terutama di kategori utama, Video if the Year dan Artist of the Year.

Sementara itu The Weeknd dan Katy Perry masing-masing mendapatkan 5 nominasi. Sang penyanyi asal Kanada merupakan calon kuat lain untuk menyabet Artist of the Year, namun mendapatkan nominasi Video of the Year justru untuk video 'Reminder'. Sedangkan nominasi Katy sebagian besar didapat dari kategori teknis.
