Nominasi untuk Country Music Association Awards ke-51 telah diumumkan. Duo country Brothers Osborne, bersama dengan Dustin Lynch dan alumni "American Idol" Lauren Alaina, mengumumkan daftar nominasinya di Labor Day lalu di episode "Good Morning America".
Keith Urban dan Miranda Lambert tercatat sebagai pemimpin dengan masing-masing mendapat 5 nominasi. Bahkan mereka saling berkompetisi di 3 kategori, yaitu Music Video of the Year, Single of the Year dan Song of the Year. Miranda sekali lagi terpilih untuk menjadi nominee Female Vocalist of the Year, kategori yang telah dimenangkannya secara berturut sebanyak 6 kali di periode 2010 hingga 2015.
Menyusul di belakang mereka adalah Little Big Town, yang membuat Taylor Swift mendapat nominasi pertamanya di 3 tahun terakhir karena tercatat sebagai penulis untuk lagu 'Better Man' milik band tersebut.
CMA Awards 2017 akan berlangsung di Bridgestone Arena, Nashville, pada tanggal 8 Novemeber. Brad Paisley dan Carrie Underwood akan kembali menjadi host untuk kesepuluh kalinya.
