Nominasi lengkap untuk American Music Awards ke-45 yang akan segera berlangsung sudah diungkap. Ciara, nominee AMA, adalah yang bertugas untuk mengungkap daftar nominasi di acara "Good Morning America", sebelum sisa di daftar dilepas secara online.
Dari daftar nominasi ini, Bruno Mars tercatat sebagai pemimpin dengan 8 nominasi. Ia mengincar gelar Artist of the Year, meski harus bersaing dengan The Chainsmokers, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Ed Sheeran. Ia juga dinominasikan untuk Video of the Year, berkat lagu 'That's What I Like', di mana Bruno akan berhadapan dengan Sheran ('Shape of You') dan Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee ('Despacito').
Sedang untuk kategori Pop/Rock categories, sang pemenang Grammy mendapatkan dua nominasi, yang salah satunya yaitu Favorite Album berkat "24K Magic" di mana ia kembali berhadapan dengan Drake dan Sheeran, selain The Weeked. Untuk kategori Soul/R&B sendiri Bruno mendapatkan 3 nominasi, yaitu Favorite Male Artist, Favorite Album dan Favorite Song.
Sementara itu calon peraih New Artist of the Year adalah James Arthur, Niall Horan, Julia Michaels, Post Malone dan Rae Sremmurd.
