MTV telah mengungkap nominasi untuk Europe Music Awards (EMAs) di tahun 2020 ini, dengan Lady Gaga, BTS dan Justin Bieber menjadi pemimpin dalam peraihan nominasi.
Gaga sukses menyabet total 7 buah nominasi, sebuah prestasi yang menyusul sukses besarnya di MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) tahun ini, setelah ia membawa pulang 5 buah piala. Gaga siap untuk menyabet gelar Best Artist, selain Best Video, Best Song dan Best Collaboration untuk 'Rain On Me' bersama Ariana Grande.
BTS dan Justin menyusul di belakang Gaga dengan masing-masing mendapatkan 5 buah nominasi, termasuk untuk kategori Best Pop dan Biggest Fans. Justin juga siap menyabet piala Best Artist bersama Gaga, Dua Lipa, Harry Styles, Miley Cyrus, dan The Weeknd.
Sedang BTS mendapat nominasi di kategori Best Group bersama 5 Seconds of Summer, BLACKPINK, Chloe x Halle, CNCO, dan Little Mix. Nominee Best Pop lain adalah Dua, Harry Styles, Katy Perry, dan Little Mix.
Acara tahun ini akan berlangsung di tanggal 8 November mendatang. Mengingat pandemi masih belum usai, kemungkinan besar acara akan melakukan perubahan format untuk menyesuaikan dengan situasi yang sedang terjadi. Host dan penampil akan segera diumumkan.
