Daftar nominasi MTV Europe Music Awards (MTV EMAs) 2021 telah diungkap dan dari daftar ini diketahui Justin Bieber mendominasi setelah mendapatkan 8 buah nominasi, termasuk dua tempat di kategori Song of the Year.
Dua lagunya yang mendapat nominasi tersebut adalah 'Peaches', sebuah kolaborasi bersama Daniel Caesar dan Giveon, dan juga hits singlenya bersama The Kid Laroi, 'Stay'. Justin pernah memenangkan kategori ini lima tahun lalu melalui 'Sorry'.
Menyusul di belakang Justin adalah Doja Cat dan Lil Nas X yang masing-masing mendapatkan 6 nominasi. Sedang Ed Sheeran, Olivia Rodrigo dan The Kid Laroi mendapatkan5 nominasi. Pemenang Best Artist tahun lalu, Lady Gaga, kembali mendapat nominasi yang sama tahun ini dan akan bersaing dengan Doja Cat, Ed, Justin, Lil Nas X dan The Weeknd.
Sementara itu penyanyi muda jebolan Indonesian Idol, Lyodra, juga mendapat nominasi tahun ini, setelah ia mewakili Indonesia di kategori Best Southeast Asia Act, bersama dengan nama-nama seperti JJ Lin (Singapura) atau SB19 (Filipina).
MTV EMAs akan berlangsung di Papp László Budapest Sportaréna, Hongaria, dan akan ditayangkan secara langsung oleh MTV di sekitar 180 negara di hari Minggu, 14 November. Voting sudah dibuka di mtvema.com dan akan berlangsung hingga 10 November.
