ROSÉ BLACKPINK kembali dengan hit terbarunya, ‘Number One Girl,’ yang dirilis pada Jumat (22/11) melalui Atlantic Records.
Dalam lagu ini, ROSÉ mengungkapkan keinginannya untuk menjadi “Gadis Nomor Satu” di mata seseorang, dengan lirik yang penuh cinta dan harapan. So what’s it gon’ take for you to want me? /I’d give it all up if you told me that I’d be/The number one girl in your eyes/The number one girl in your eyes, nyanyinya di bagian refrain. Tak hanya dengan lirik yang menyentuh, video musik untuk lagu ini juga disutradarai langsung oleh ROSÉ, menambah sentuhan pribadi dalam karya tersebut.
Lagu ‘Number One Girl’ mengikuti kesuksesan single sebelumnya, ‘APT.’ hasil kolaborasi dengan Bruno Mars. ‘APT.’ meraih pencapaian luar biasa dengan bertahan selama empat minggu di puncak tangga lagu Billboard Global 200 dan Billboard Global Excl. US.
Kedua single tersebut akan dimasukkan dalam album solo pertama ROSÉ, “rosie,” yang akan dirilis pada 6 Desember mendatang.
ROSÉ mengungkapkan bahwa album ini sangat berarti baginya, karena ia telah mencurahkan banyak usaha dan emosi ke dalam setiap lagunya.
Dalam pengumuman tentang album tersebut, ROSÉ menyatakan: “Saya telah mencurahkan darah dan air mata saya ke dalam album ini. Saya tidak sabar menunggu Anda mendengarkan jurnal kecil saya ini. Rosie – adalah nama yang saya izinkan untuk dipanggil oleh teman-teman dan keluarga saya. Dengan album ini, saya harap Anda semua merasa lebih dekat dengan saya. Dan ya, ini adalah album berdurasi penuh.”
