CREATIVEDISC.COM - JAKARTA - Benson Boone meraih penghargaan Song of the Year di iHeartRadio Music Awards 2025 lewat lagu 'Beautiful Things', menjadi solois pria pertama yang menang di kategori ini sejak The Weeknd pada 2021. Kemenangan ini menjadi pelipur bagi minimnya nominasi Boone di Grammy Awards 2025, meski ia tampil memukau di acara tersebut.
Billie Eilish membawa pulang piala Album of the Year lewat "Hit Me Hard and Soft", sementara Gracie Abrams dinobatkan sebagai Breakthrough Artist of the Year, yang dalam pidatonya, ia pun menyampaikan rasa terima kasih kepada Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Noah Kahan, dan band The National.
SZA mencetak rekor sebagai R&B Artist of the Year selama tiga tahun berturut-turut. Jelly Roll menang Country Artist of the Year, GloRilla meraih Hip-Hop Artist of the Year, Sabrina Carpenter meraih Pop Artist of the Year, dan Green Day memenangkan Alternative Artist of the Year untuk pertama kalinya.
Tiga penghargaan kehormatan diberikan kepada Lady Gaga (Innovator Award), Mariah Carey (Icon Award), dan Taylor Swift (Tour of the Century untuk The Eras Tour). Sedangkan Nelly mendapat Landmark Award untuk 25 tahun album debut "Country Grammar".
Secara total, Taylor Swift menjadi peraih penghargaan terbanyak malam itu dengan sembilan trofi, disusul Post Malone dengan empat, termasuk kolaborasinya dengan Taylor Swift dalam tembang 'Fortnight'.
Meski banyak kategori diumumkan di acara utama, beberapa diantaranya seperti Dance Artist of the Year yang dimenangkan oleh David Guetta tidak disiarkan, menimbulkan perdebatan soal nilai penghargaan tersebut.
Ajang iHeartRadio Music Awards ke-12 ini menyoroti lagu dan artis paling banyak diputar sepanjang 2024.
