Cantik, muda, berbakat dan memiliki suara yang powerfull, membuat Joss Stone menjadi artis yang berbeda dengan penyanyi wanita kebanyakan. Masih mengandalkan irama yang sama pada beberapa single pada album sebelumnya, "Free Me", sekilas mengingatkan akan track "Tell Me Bout It" secara musikalitas, namun "Free Me" sedikit memiliki irama yang lebih slow.
Dibuka dengan instrumen gitar membuat single ini sangat mudah untuk dinikmati, dengan diiringi instrumen musik saxophone, dan terkesan sedikit memiliki nuansa jazz, ditambah vokal Joss Stone yang memiliki karakter yang kuat, "Free Me" bisa menemani hari-harimu di tengah berbagai kesibukan dan berbagai macam aktivitas, "Singing in Our On voice, We can make that choice, to be, to be free". Lalu, apa lagi yang menjadi kekurangan single yang penuh dengan karakter soul ini?? Saya rasa tidak ada, nyaris tanpa cacat.
