Apa yang kurang dari MGMT sekarang sebagai band baru. Mendapat nominasi Grammy sudah, album debut yang sudah terjual lebih dari 591.000 kopi sudah, menjadi headliner di festival bergengsi juga sudah dilakukan. Tapi ketenaran yang mereka dapatkan berkat single-singlenya yang catchy membuat mereka menjadi merasa aneh dan memutuskan tidak merilis single apapun di album keduanya "Congratulation" alasannya sederhana yaitu agar orang-orang mau mendengarkan satu album full mereka bukan hanya mendengar single ketengan saja tanpa mendengar album fullnya. Langkah yang diambil ini menurut saya cukup inovatif tapi sedikit berisiko.
Setelah menunggu sekian lama akhirnya "Flash Delirium" dimajukan sebagai single 'teaser' untuk album kedua mereka yang dibagi-bagikan secara gratis di situs mereka. Duo yang terdiri dari Andrew VanWyngarden dan Ben Goldwasser kini memainkan unsur psychedelic pop.
Mengenai lagu ini, lagu yang berdurasi 4:16 ini memainkan unsur sendu di awal sebelum nuansa semi-upbeat dimasukkan. Di bagian tengah lagu juga ada unsur flute dengan vokal yang mengawang-ngawang. Masuk ke part akhir dari lagu ini nuansa upbeat dimunculkan, di bagian ending lagu terdapat vokal yang meraung-raung dan sound yang bising. Di lagu ini saya juga sedikit mendengar sound The Beatles dan lo-fi.
Barangkali bagi yang sudah terbiasa mendengar single mereka sebelumnya bakal ternganga mendengar lagu ini dan tergolong berat dibandingkan karya-karya sebelumnya.Lagu ini memang dibutuhkan untuk didengar berulang-ulang agar mendapat sensenya dan enaknya. Lagu ini seolah menjadi statement bagi mereka untuk keluar dari 'zona aman'mereka dan keluar dengan sesuatu yang berbeda dari sebelumnya dan hasilnya... Great!!!!

PS: Lagu ini juga sudah masuk di beberapa chart radio di Indonesia, tungguin aja tanggal rilis albumnya pada tanggal 13 April nanti.
