Setelah sekian lama rap seakan identik dengan hip-hop, sejarah kembali berulang setelah satu dekade lalu Eminem muncul dengan Dido. Tak semua rapper mampu bernyanyi dengan baik meski hanya berupa melodi yang sederhana. Seperti halnya Kanye West yang mencoba untuk terdengar melodius ketimbang ritmis, atau Eminem yang juga bernyanyi dan tidak hanya nge-rap dalam satu dua single di dua album terakhirnya. Jay-Z bermain aman dengan mengajak Alicia Keys, setelah sebelumnya ada TI dengan Rihanna, hingga B.O.B dengan Bruno Mars bahkan yang paling hip saat ini Eminem dengan Rihanna.
Tinie Tempah yang bernama asli Patrick Chukwuem Okogwu Jr adalah seorang rapper asal Inggris. Gaya maupun suaranya mengingatkan saya pada Lil Wayne. Komposisi ini ditulis oleh Tinie dan Tuner yang asal, Forth Worth, Texas. 'Written In The Stars' merupakan single ketiga dari album Tinie Tempah 'Disc-Overy' yang rencananya akan rilis awal Oktober mendatang. Sejatinya lagu ini direncanakan sebagai single kedua, tetapi Tinie menundanya. Mempunyai rumusan yang tak biasa, lagu ini dibuka dengan chorus oleh Eric Turner sementara Tinie sendiri baru muncul setelah itu. Tembang ini merupakan perpaduan antara hip-hop dan rock. Alunan piano yang bertenaga dipadukan sentuhan electro, dentuman drum serta raungan gitar tak heran jika lagu ini terasa memikat.
