Jangan terlena akan kedahsyatan sound yang dihasilkan dalam single pertama mereka, ‘Like A G6’. Karena sebenarnya grup ini punya musik yang variatif untuk ditawarkan kepada kita. Contohnya ya single terbaru mereka, ‘Rocketeer‘ ini. Dimana Far*East Movement mengajak Ryan Tedder untuk menyumbang vokal di dalamnya. Apa yang tersaji di dalamnya adalah hip hop dengan balutan musik alternatif. Jadi, ini merupakan cita rasa yang super beda dari heavy dance beat dalam ‘Like A G6’ kan?!
Orang yang berada di balik ‘Rocketeer’ adalah The Stereotypes dan The Smeezingtons. Nah, kedua nama ini enggak asing lagi sama kita, karena nama pertama pernah menjadi produser untuk Justin Bieber, Natasha Bedingfield, dan juga Ne-Yo, sedangkan nama kedua sukses besar dengan Bruno Mars, Sugababes, dan juga Flo Rida. Coba dengarkan beberapa beat synth yang terdengar setiap bagian dengan vokal Ryan Tedder, musik itu begitu serupa dengan yang ada di lagu ‘Somebody To Love’ milik Justin Bieber dan Usher. Yang punya kerjaan pasti Stereotypes, soalnya merekalah linking factor dari kedua lagu tersebut.
3 verse dengan 4 kali chorus enggak lantas membuat lagu ini jadi kelewat panjang dan membosankan. Karena rap dalam bagian verse juga tidak panjang dan bertele. Kisah yang dipaparkan mengenai keinginan dan harapan ini cukup sukses diramu dalam durasi tiga setengah menit. Video klip-nya juga cukup berkisah, tentang pasangan yang harus terpisah, tapi si pria hendak mewujudkan sesuatu yang menjadi impiannya. Dan hal itu berkaitan dengan roket.
Far*East Movement sekali lagi sukses menjadikan diri mereka disukai. Lagu ini memperkuat citra kratif mereka dalam bermusik, dimana mereka enggak terpenjara dalam kesuksesan ‘Like A G6’ dan terobsesi untuk menghasilkan single serupa. Jempol buat hal tersebut!
