Hanya dalam waktu singkat, pesona The Wanted memudar. Sejak kehadirannya, mereka sering disebut sebagai pembangkit gairah boyband. Dan kini, mereka nyaris tak tersentuh oleh jajaran atas chart musik. Sebelum keputusan mengistirahatkan grup terjadi, mereka berniat untuk merilis lagu 'Glow in the Dark' dari koleksi terbaru, "Word of Mouth". Single karya Deekay ini terpapar dalam seni electropop, yang secara faktual merupakan arena breakout yang The Wanted punya dengan 'Glad You Came' dulu.
Sejujurnya, saya tak begitu mengerti apa dan bagaimana jalan pikiran pasar pada saat ini. Selera pasar kini sulit ditebak. The Wanted dan tim pasti punya ekspektasi yang besar terhadap single ini untuk dapat berterima di hati masyarakat. Nyatanya, ia bahkan tak sempat mencicipi hidup di chart musik UK, apalagi US. Padahal, 'Glow' merupakan sebuah anthem yang pas bagi para partygoers. Ada semangat yang membumbung tinggi dalam beat yang tercetak, resmi memanjakan setiap telinga untuk memandang pesta sebagai kehidupan abadi mereka.
Cukup merasa kasihan pada nasib The Wanted maupun single ini. Karena terlepas dari hal tersebut, 'Glow' adalah sebuah kesempatan getaway dari rutinitas yang menjemukan. Spot someone you like, as he/she glows in the dark. Atau bagi yang sudah punya pasangan, spot somewhere you like, as yourselves glow in that place. Pujian tak biasa ini memikat hati dan telinga, sajian yang jelas sangat merugikan bagi yang melewatkannya.
