DJ sekaligus produser musik tenar, David Guetta udah punya daftar artis yang akan berkontribusi untuk album terbarunya nanti. Dan agak-agaknya, daftar ini nantinya akan lebih meriah dibanding album David sebelumnya. Nah, sebagai pemanasan, dirilislah single 'Where Them Girls At?' yang menampilkan Flo Rida dan Nicki Minaj. This is really interesting. Karena meskipun keduanya adalah rapper, tapi keduanya juga bernyanyi. Rame kan?! Pastinya.
Meskipun demikian, ada kesan kalau di lagu ini Flo dan Nicki enggak akur, sehingga diciptakanlah bagian buat masing-masing untuk unjuk gigi. Ternyata, kesan ini muncul karena versi awalnya hanya bermuatan vokal Flo saja, dan kemudian ditambahkan vokal Nicki atas request sang DJ yang di-approve oleh rapper Cash Money tersebut. Jadilah kolaborasi apik ini.
Keberhasilan David enggak berhenti sampe situ aja, karena berikutnya, musik dance yang diolahnya di single ini adalah gabungan eurodance dengan R&B. Beat-nya terdengar fresh, intronya sedikit mengingatkan dengan hit Cobra Starship 'Good Girls Gone Bad'. Bagian verse milik Nicki jauh lebih mengesankan dibanding milik Flo. Ini karena campuran hentakan-hentakan musik R&B sebagai kejutan yang membuat takjub di pertengahan lagu. Kalaupun porsi yang Nicki dapat di dalamnya hanya sedikit, tapi dia membuat dampak yang besar. Memang jauh lebih menarik ketimbang verse bagian Flo yang terlalu generic.
Secara keseluruhan, 'Where Them Girls At?' bisa dimasukkan dalam jajaran lagu yang memperkuat keberadaan David Guetta sebagai DJ yang handal dan produser musik yang kreatif. Enggak hanya mampu menghasilkan keunikan dalam hentakan musik dance yang ia kreasikan, tapi artis-artis yang diajaknya bekerjasama selalu mengesankan. Jadi untuk sekarang, enggak usah banyak tanya where them boys and girls at? Karena jawabannya mutlak ada saat kamu tekan tombol play untuk lagu ini.
