I have a lot of respect to Will Young. Sebagai Idol tertua, ia membuktikan kalau dirinya mampu bertahan dari dulu hingga sekarang, tanpa sekalipun kehilangan garis orbit. Nama-nama lain yang lahir bersamanya seperti Gareth Gates (Pop Idol) atau Kurt Nilsen (World Idol) tak punya karir seawet Will. Toh dari peer-nya, tampak hanya Will, Kelly Clarkson, dan Guy Sebastian yang eksis dengan cakupan sukses worldwide. Yang terbaru dari Will, 'Love Revolution' dengan warna retro dan britpop yang sangat kental.
Kental dan menawan. Lagu ini adalah hasil karya cipta Will, dimana ia mencatut sebagian lagunya dari karya Andrea Martin dan DJ Tomcraft. Oke, catut terdengar berkonotasi negatif. Sebaiknya menggunakan frase "mangambil elemen", sehingga terdengar lebih inspiratif. Tapi hanya lirik saja, karena sebenarnya dari segi musik, 'Love Revolution' jauh dari gegap gempita dance/club ataupun pesona R&B lagu Tomcraft maupun Andrea. Gagasan utamanya adalah memberi imbuhan retro dan sedikit pesona britpop, sehingga ia terdengar tak sekedar pop. That's exactly what Will has been doing so far. He ain't doing any ordinary pop. He added a little bit of soul, gone with some electronica, and even fused by jazz.
Tergolong uptempo, Will tidak memiliki kesulitan untuk mengendalikan vokalnya supaya beradu merdu dengan struktur pergerakan musik. Suaranya yang cenderung melankolis tidak menjadikan arahan musik ini sebagai kendala, melainkan tantangan. Reward-nya adalah suasana happy yang 'Love Revolution' bawa juga mengefek pada hidupnya atmosfer di sekitar kita tatkala mendengarkan lagu ini. Sebagai tambahan, video klip yang warna-warni menjadi bahan entertain lanjutan terhadap revolusi musik sang idola.
