Adele & Ed Sheeran Dominasi Daftar Nominasi Brit Awards 2022

Adele dan Ed Sheeran, selain juga Dave dan Little Simz, mendominasi daftar nominasi untuk Brit Awards 2022. Nominasi diumumkan melalui sebuah tayangan televisi spesial tayangan ITV di Sabtu, 18 Desember lalu, "The Brit Are Coming." Sedang para pemenang akan diumumkan di tanggal 8 Februari 2022 di O2 Arena, London.

Bersama dengan Sam Fender, Adele, Ed, Dave dan Little Simz akan bersaing memperebutkan gelar Artist of the Year. Brit Awards 2022 akan menjadi yang pertama di mana kategori berdasarkan jenis kelamin telah dipisah dan digabung menjadi satu. Untuk tahun ini, terdapat dua artis perempuan yang kategori Artist of the Year, yaitu Adele dan Little Simz. Tapi, empat dari lima nominee International Artist adalah perempuan; Billie Eilish, Doja Cat, Olivia Rodrigo dan Taylor Swift.

ABBA, yang bulan lalu menerima nominasi GRAMMY pertama mereka, mendapatkan tempat di kategori International Group, bersama dengan BTS, Måneskin, Silk Sonic dan The War on Drugs. Sedang Elton John menerima nominasi Brit pertamanya dalam 20 tahun terakhir berkat 'Cold Heart (Pnau Mix)', kolaborasinya bersama Dua Lipa, untuk kategori Song of the Year.

Para pemenang kategori baru - rock/alternative act, hip hop/grime/rap act, dance act, pop/R&B act – akan ditentukan oleh voting publik melalui TikTok dan akan dibuka mulai tanggal 21 Januari.
