Setelah menggaetnya ke label rekaman Epic, L.A. langsung tancap gas untuk membuat kompilasi terbaru Mimi yang dibangun dari 18 lagu no.1 yang ia punya selama ini ditambahi lagu baru berjudul 'Infinity'.
Melodi dalam lagu ini banyak tersalin dari parade musik di era "Emancipation of Mimi" dan selanjutnya. Tampilan musiknya sangat mencondong kesana, corak R&B yang Mimi banggakan dan berulang kali ia usahakan untuk terus hidup di karyanya. Meskipun bukan digawangi oleh tim yang sama, tapi formula yang Mimi terapkan cukup kuat didesain ulang untuk lagu ini. Bersama Eric Hudson ia mengkreasikan 'Infinity' dengan tiga kekuatan utama yang menjadi bahan puji kritik; lirik pemberdayaan, vokal yang menjulang, dan chorus dengan kata-kata kompleks.
Di balik setiap kekuatannya, single berdurasi empat menit satu detik ini, tersimpan satu keraguan; kalau-kalau 'Infinity' tak akan sanggup menjadi lagu no.1 kesembilan belas dari sang Diva. Keraguan itu sangat berpeluang untuk menjadi kenyataan, karena sejak dirilis di penghujung April lalu, single ini tak mampu melibas kompetisi untuk hadir ke jajaran atas. Bahkan dengan pembukaan show di Las Vegas pun sepertinya lagu ini tidak mendapat boost-nya. Tapi satu kesilapan tersebut tidak akan menistai track record yang Mimi pegang sebagai salah satu penyanyi wanita terbaik dunia.
