Daftar lengkap untuk Grammy Awards ke-61 telah diumumkan. Disiarkan melalui acara "This Morning" di stasiun televisi CBS dan Apple Music, pengumuman ini dibantu oleh beberapa nama kenamaan, seperti Alessia Cara, Shawn Mendes, Janelle Monae selain Zane Lowe dari Beats 1.
Grammy kali ini sepertinya akan menjadi "pertarungan sengit" antara Cardi B dan Drake yang mengincar piala utama, Album of the Year, berkat "Invasion of Privacy" dan "Scorpion". Mereka akan saling bersaing bersama dengan Brandi Carlile ("By the Way, I Forgive You"), Post Malone ("Beerbongs & Bentleys"), Janelle Monae ("Dirty Computer" ) selain album yang dikurasi oleh Kendrick Lamar, soundtrack "Black Panther".
Kejutan muncul setelah album milik "anak emas" Grammy, Taylor Swift, "Reputation" ternyata tidak mendapat tempat di kategori prestisius ini.
Cardi dan Drake juga akan bersaing untuk Record of the Year, melalui 'I Like It' dan 'God's Plan', Donald Glover a.k.a. Childish Gambino dengan 'This Is America' dan kolaborasi Lady Gaga dan Bradley Cooper, 'Shallow'.
Dua Lipa untuk pertama kalinya mendapat nominasi Grammy, di mana ia akan bersaing dengan Luke Combs, Jorja Smith dan Bebe Rexha untuk meraih gelar Best New Artist.
Peraih nominasi terbanyak adalah Kendrick Lamar dengan 8 nominasi dan disusul oleh Drake dengan 7 buah nominasi. Para pemenang akan diumumkan pada tanggal 10 Februari 2019 di Staples Center, Los Angeles.
