Smooth jazz, lagu You Don't Know Me dari Anna Wilson yang menampilkan Matt Giraud adalah stand out single di kategori jazz taun ini. I'll tell you how much I love this single and why. Pertama, Anna Wilson adalah nama yang cukup menarik bagi industri musik jazz. Apalagi pernyataannya mengenai campuran musik jazz dan country yang ingin dia coba di album Countrypolitan Duets yang rencananya rilis tahun ini juga. "There have been moments in Nashville’s musical history when country and jazz were not so far apart. In my life, they are always combined, and through this project, jazz and country will once again get to shake hands. I couldn't be more thrilled about that." Dan voila, lahirlah single You Don't Know Me sebagai single pertamanya.
Kedua, Matt Giraud yang kita kenal sebagai penyanyi pop di American Idol dan penyanyi R&B dengan 2 album studio pra-Idol mencoba jalur jazz yang secara ajaib menjadi sangat alamiah terdengar dari vokalnya. This is amazing!
Ketiga, musik yang diperdengarkan dalam single ini begitu damai dan nyaman di telinga. Jazz piano yang elegan, permainan piano yang seksi, dan gesekan biola yang terkesan mahal. Aku suka mendengarkan lagu-lagu yang megah dan indah seperti ini.
Aku tak yakin kalau radio anak muda mau memutar lagu ini. Tapi di iTunes Jazz Chart, You Don't Know Me sanggup debut di posisi puncak sejak rilis di 28 Januari lalu. It's a good sign, for both of them. Ini juga menandakan bahwa banyak yang penasaran dengan jazz campur country yang akan dihadirkan oleh Wilson sekaligus pengen mendengarkan lebih banyak karya dari Giraud. Aku beri 2 jempol untuk single yang satu ini.
